This Econo Lodge is a mixed bag experience with excellent value and family-friendly staff, but plagued by cleanliness issues including roaches and hygiene concerns.
This was by far the best place me and my husband stayed in. The rooms were clean and spotless. Had the best customer service, the husband and wife are the most kindest people we know. Check in was easy. I'd say this is the best Econo lodge there is. Highly recommend this hotel. ????????????????????
ROACHES AND HORRIBLE SERVICE I stayed at this hotel for two weeks I spent a week in one room and everything was fine nothing special but nothing bad that all changed in week two I decided to renew my stay for another week and my room changed which wasn’t a big deal I got settled into my new room and everything was fine but I noticed a little bug on the bathroom sink but I didn’t think anything of it people walk through those doors all the time so a bug or two isn’t the end of the world I left for the weekend to hang out with friends and when came back I noticed roaches and not just one but 5 in 30 minutes i immediately checked my bags and packed up as quickly as possible and they gave me a free room change so i went to work the next day and when i came back my key wasn’t working and i guessed since I changed rooms suddenly they accidentally didn’t put my entire stay on the new room key so I went down to the old man at the front and asked for a new key and he asked for the room number and I gave me my old one on accident since I had only been in my new room one day he proceeded to get angry and say no one was in that room I then told him the correct room number and he said “don’t make me mad” two times I don’t know if he’s got anger issues or what but threatening a customer is out of line I suggest the women stay at the front because she was lovely but I didn’t even mention to them how in all 3 rooms the bathtubs weren’t cleaned before I checked in so I will NEVER be coming back if you want to bring roaches back home this is the place for you and as for the old man he needs either anger management or to treat PAYING customers better
The other reviews talking about a funky smell are true. There's the smell of mold/mildew all throughout the second floor, and your second floor room might smell like cat litter. The beds were comfortable and clean, but the desk chair was kind of gross. For longer stays, they only clean your room every three days, which could be a negative for some people. There was no card to hang outside your door to request service--you had to request extra service from the front desk. They have a pretty big roku TV in the rooms. There's only one washer/dryer located on the first floor, and it's quarters only. If you don't have quarters, or if you have a lot of laundry, I suggest checking out Peanut's Laundry just down the road. The shower would be hot/warm early in the morning, but it might be a bit cold later on. I didn't personally check out the breakfast, but I heard that it was mostly breads and that you had to make your own waffles using batter from a bottle. They're situated right next to Waffle House, so I'd suggest just heading over there for breakfast. The staff were polite and helpful. There are quite a few other hotels on the same strip. If the other lodgings are full, this isn't a terrible place to stay, but if you have other options, I'd go somewhere else. This location is great for visiting Atlanta, Helen, Savannah, and some locations in South Carolina. I'd recommend trying out Emma's Breakfast Cafe in Thomson, GA. Their grits were the best I had on my trip.
No smoking ? other than that, a very nice facility! The water pressure for the shower is immaculate! Had me running once it touched my back ? beds are quite comfy, and I found myself snoozing that alarm more than usual ? ? Book your room today!
This is the best place to stay in Augusta during your visit. Neat and clean hotel with bigger room space at low cost. Man and lady at front desk are awesome. They treated us like family members. Will be back again.
This place was horrible, the toilet seat was not even attached the room smelled, no breakfast, no coffee, the sheets were nasty, the towels were nasty. I will never go back.
I stayed at a local Wyndham hotel and paid $120. There was NO hot water and the room still had dried food stains within. I decided to come here to Econo Lodge. This location is worth the money! The room was clean, slightly modern, spacious, and all the utilities worked. A/C was very good! The area is safe and the staff are attentive. I would have no problem staying here again :)
I enjoy my stays here at Econo Lodge the staff here are very welcoming, and they have top-notch guest services and hospitality! They give off a family vibe and are open to listening to guest's concerns or personal problems one of the best hotels in town.
What a nightmare! Do not stay here! We arrived at the hotel at around 11:30pm and checked in. We got to the room (107) and all looked good on the surface until I moved my bedding and a roach crawled out! Upon further inspection we found 3 more roaches. There was also a mystery white stain on the wall and floor. They moved us to another room (210), we walked in a saw more roaches. My son started having a panic attack for obvious reasons so we go out of there as quickly as possible. When checking out we saw a notebook open on the counter that said 313 - Bed bugs in room. Hallways smelled like cigarettes as well.
Worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. As is required, I had to show ID to stay there. Not a problem, but they didn’t give me my ID back. I called a couple of days later when I realized that I had left it. The person that answered said they would mail it back to me. I waited 12 days and I still didn’t have my ID returned. When I called to ask why, I was told they forgot to send it and would do so the next day. When I called the next day to make sure it was sent, they hung up on me when I told them who I was and why I was calling. Now they either don’t answer when I call or just hang up on me.
