This Fairfield Inn & Suites Grovetown has received mixed reviews, with some praising its cleanliness, location, and friendly staff, while others reported significant issues including a theft incident, inconsistent customer service policies, and unresolved maintenance concerns. Recent reviews highlight a lack of security measures and management responsiveness to guest concerns.
Housekeeping or someone on staff stole my personal item. I originally planned to stay at this hotel for 11 days but was forced to shorten my stay after a personal item disappeared from my room under circumstances strongly suggesting staff involvement. I checked in on Monday and placed a personal item inside the nightstand slot. This property performs housekeeping service every other day. On Tuesday, housekeeping did not enter the room, and the item remained exactly where I left it. On Wednesday, housekeeping serviced the room. After returning later that day, both the item and its charger — which had been stored in separate locations — were missing. I immediately reported the situation to the front desk and informed staff that I would be filing a police report. The responding police officer advised that hotel security cameras should be reviewed. When I followed up with the front desk, I was informed that there are no cameras covering the second floor, which was later confirmed by the General Manager, Matt Ricker. The following day, Mr. Ricker told me management had identified the housekeeper assigned to my room and stated she was the only employee who entered it. He relayed that the employee denied taking the item and then suggested that I had misplaced it. I explained clearly that I knew exactly where the item had been placed and that both the item and charger disappearing simultaneously indicated theft rather than misplacement. Mr. Ricker stated he did not consider the matter theft and would only cooperate if contacted by law enforcement. As of this review, my belongings have not been recovered, and no meaningful internal investigation appeared to take place as Mr.Ricker never even asked me what happen and why I thought it was taken; he just said he disagreed with it being theft. This experience raises serious concerns about guest safety and property security. The hotel lacks adequate camera coverage in guest corridors, and management’s response conveyed little urgency in protecting guests or resolving a credible theft report. Because of this incident, I cannot recommend staying at this property if the safety of your belongings is important to you. There are several nearby alternatives within the same area, including Hilton and IHG properties, which may provide stronger security practices and guest protections.
Disappointing Customer Service & Inconsistent Policies (Grovetown Location) I had an extremely frustrating experience at the Fairfield by Marriott in Grovetown, and I just left due to poor customer service and inconsistent policies. I stayed at this exact same location just three weeks ago, and they accepted the authorization form without any issues. This time, however, they suddenly refused it. We have used this same authorization form for years, in different states and at multiple locations, and have never had an issue. No hotel has ever required me to print an authorization form. An emailed form is standard practice and completely valid. Even more frustrating, they rejected it simply because it was a photo of the form, despite it containing all the same information. There was no flexibility, no effort to help, and no reasonable explanation for the sudden change in policy. Because of this, I canceled my reservation and booked the Holiday Inn across the street, where I received far better customer service, better rooms, and better amenities with no issues at all. Very disappointed with this Fairfield by Marriott location. I will not be returning.
Nasty hotel! Upon arrival, noticed pubic hairs on toilet and trash all in bathroom trash can, Awoken at 4am from intense skunk weed coming into room(after driving 12 hours exhausted). Would never stay here again! Once again, doesn’t matter the name(Marriott/Hilton) they’re all the same! If I want this nastiness and criminal activity I’ll stay at a motel 6
Stayed here before and its a nice new hotel. I booked a regular king and they gave me a handicap room. Apparently it was the "last king room." "Since I booked a 3rd party website they couldnt change my room" Unfortunately, I never experienced this situation before. Last time this happened at another hotel they fixed my problem quick and easy. Not even a manager had the authority to give me better customer service. I was only able resolve this issue by booking another room and was charged for an additional room. Zero stars, better yet negative 1. Hopefully the policy changes or I can get a refund on my room. Otherwise I wont be back. I wish I never came here.
Woke up very early and Mr J showed me the real meaning of servitude, and exuberance for his work…had coffee ready at 4:30 am and served it to me at my table, and made the beginning of my day AMAZING! The staff here is the essence of the service industry, and I recommend this hotel to everyone!
Marvelous Darling! A few months ago, I stayed here and loved the area so much that when I got a job offer with Columbia County Libraries, I specifically looked for an apartment near this hotel. Thankfully, I found a great place just up the street! The hotel itself is spotless, located in a safe and pleasant area, with an abundance of shopping and dining options close by. You really can’t go wrong choosing this hotel.
Great place. Rooms were clean and up to date. Great location with multiple hotels nearby and shopping plazas and restaurants within walking distance. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was typical free breakfast. It was good. Safe place, safe location.
Jenna and Sherry (sp) were amazing. My mom and I were both having mobility issues. They both helped us greatly with our check-in and room with 2 beds. Give those two a raise they're representing your company in the best light! Thank you again.
Very modern. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Breakfast isn’t the best, limited options, and the only critique I have of the hotel.
Daniela Sirec is totally unqualified to be a Manager of anywhere that attracts families looking out for their own safety. We had two young men who tried two different times to break into our hotel room, the second time after I had taken my dogs out of the room and looked up from the ground through the window at our room to two young males, trying to open the door to our room with my two young kids and Wife inside the room. This is one hour after I had left the hotel to go grab my family some food and received a text from my wife asking if it was me that just tried to open the door. No I was gone, but She said that our two dogs had barked and that she heard footsteps of them running away. As soon as I get back to the room, I take our dogs out to the bathroom within two minutes, I visually see with my own eyes. These two young men puffing on vaporizer, trying to open our door. When the concern was brought up to Daniela, She seemed to act totally unfazed like nothing was wrong and that there was nothing she could do about i, telling me if I raised my voice with concern she would have me arrested. Telling me that they do not have cameras in this hotel that opens its doors in January 2025. Totally unbelievable. I would love for ownership to reach out to me About this matter. Totally unacceptable.
